Davis Street holds nutritional cooking classes to teach community members how to prepare meals that are healthy and affordable. Under the guidance of a nutritionist, the program uses groceries donated to the organization’s food pantry.
The classes provide hands-on cooking exercises that teach participants the importance of eating healthy foods and the risks of obesity. The recipes are culturally relevant, with translation services available for people who speak Spanish or Cantonese.
After the training sessions, a wellness coach provides participants with helpful tips on improving overall health. Visit davisstreet.org for information on upcoming nutritional cooking classes.
