The manager of vital community programs for more than 25 years, Rose Padilla Johnson serves as CEO of the Davis Street Community Center (DSCC) in San Leandro, California. Offering social services that support lower-income families in San Leandro, Rose Padilla Johnson oversees DSCC’s health clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

Providing health services to underserved community members regardless of immigration status, the Davis Street Primary Care Clinic is sanctuary facility and a member of the National Health Services Corps. Focusing on the delivery of culturally appropriate and multilingual care, the clinic offers behavioral health and dental care services in additional to medical care.
In keeping with the requirements for FQHC eligibility, the clinic does not deny services to anyone, even if they are unable to pay. It offers a sliding fee discount to patients depending on income level and maintains an ongoing quality assurance program. The Davis Street clinic is open Monday through Friday, and remains open to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
